Yoga for Amputees Course, Chicago

Woo hoo! I just taught Yoga for Amputees at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, MA.

Now there WILL be  Y4A program for amputees at this major US Hospital. Pioneering here we come!

I am passionate about helping amputees feel whole again through the healing power and science of YOGA.
As the first amputee yoga teacher in the US, I know what it is like to experience limb loss and all that goes with it. I know what it takes to walk again, dance again, and of course , practice yoga. And I know for sure that the full spectrum practice of YOGA, including breathing, meditation, yoga postures, relaxation and the royal pillars of yoga laid out in the second century can reduce pain, anxiety, stress, suffering, phantom pain and post traumatic stress for amputees who lost limbs due to violence such as war and terrorism, disease, or accident.
Spaulding Hospital is a major center in the US for innovation in the care of amputees. In fact, it was Spaulding Hospital who helped many of the Boston Bombing victims get their life back .
Yoga , for me, has made the hard road to recovery that much easier.  By helping amputees, and the professionals who work with them, like incredibly caring physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians, including the director of the Amputee program at Spaulding,  Dr. David Crandell, I feel so honored to be contributing to something that matters deeply to me and will without a doubt enhance the lives of amputee patients.

Do you know someone or some hospital that needs Yoga for Amputees? Send them my way. Yoga is a healing science which can make a HUGE difference in an amputee's life.
Need proof? Check out the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda, who considered Yoga a healing art and science.
